Virachanam therapy is the medicated purgation therapy in ayurveda that cleanses the aggravated Pitta from the body and purifies blood, by removing the toxins from the body. This therapy is mainly used for removing the toxins that are accumulated in the liver and gall bladder. In addition to that, the toxins of gastrointestinal tract are also removed through virechanam therapy. Virechana therapy eliminates the vitiated doshas from the rectum by using several herbal drugs that helps to bring the vitiated doshas to the abdomen. After undergoing Virechanam treatment, the patient is advised to take rest, stay warm and relaxed, and keep away from cold drinks and cold baths. In addition to that, it is very essential to follow a specific diet for some days after treatment.
